Nocturnal Seizures

Fri, 02/23/2007 - 12:46
Suggestions or experiences regarding nocturnal seizures would be appreciated. Post left temporal, almost 10 years ago, my seizures changed from day only to nocturnal only. I am still on drugs, presently Lamictal, and would value information from others who also experience similar situation. Thanks. Doris

Hello everyone - I am 21-years-old and having to live by asking my parents for rides to work and school. I am sick of having seizures while I sleep and not being able to drive. I just had a seizure last night/this morning around 4 a.m.. So, as the time limit on being "seizure free" was weeks away, this happened. It happens every single time, too. It will be less than one month and boom! Anyways, I found this page and I felt a little more relieved. I wish there were more recent comments, but maybe I'll get responses. If you have nocturnal Epilepsy, were you cleared to drive? - Kaitlin

Most of my seizures started of at night and yes they knock the living daylights out of you.  But they quietend down only for me to start having them in the day time as well I've had 2 broken teeth a couple of scars on my head lots of bumps and bruises and the worst of all burnt my kichen out.  Don't no which was worse, work it out for yourself.

Anyway hope your epi gets better soon

My Neurologists are unsure as to whether I am having Nocturnal Seizures, I seem not to have the classic symptoms that you all have in common.  I have horrendous vivid nightmares, I wake up aching but not in the sort of pain you all have, I am however very disorientated for a few hours after having these nightmares.  The doctor increased my Keppra Dosage by almost double and I have seen a dramatic decrease in them.  I would like to say that I have Simple Partial Seizures in the day time which is what the Keppra was for.  I developed these ten years after having temperal lobe surgery to cure severe epilepsy.  I would love to hear from anyone who shares experiences like this.
