Need advice

I am curious as to how this might effect children.  My son will be 8 and has had only four seizures in the past year.  All of which were nocturnal.  They want to start meds, but again I am really unsure.  He is scheduled for an EEG overnight soon.  Any advice would be helpful.

WelcomeI will start with something simple..All it takes to diagnose epilepsy is 2 seizures. All a seizure is "A seizure is an electrical impulse going off wrong in the brain causeing a chain reaction"  They want to start meds, but again I am really unsure  My advice is to start the medications. I say thay becasue those 4 seizures are only the ones you have seen or know of. Before I had my grand mal I was getting written up for day dreaming in class. I was igmoring some twitched in my had saying it was due to over working it. Well after the testing and the diagnosis The day dreaming became what today would be absecne or focal seizures I had focal motor seizures that generalized. Which meant that instead of being in one area (my right mand) it covered the entire brain and in those seizures I was in aconvulsive seizure that looke just like a grand mal seizure. The difference was I was concious. I saw, heard and understood what was going on arround me.If he has epilepsy ans has had seizures then the longer the delay the harder it will be to control them. The seizures will get more frequent and stronger. Been there done that but only because in the early 1960's less was known about epilepsy. I hope this helps and he gets the assistance he needs Joe
