Thu, 12/27/2007 - 09:02

Hi Sue 11 here been a long time since i have been into the chat room still struggling very much with my daughter who is now 4 years old. still having many difficulties using words with any meaning. Behaviour is still really challenging when we go out etc. Been on epilim now for a few months and have also introduced lamictal over the top as well still struggling going to sleep at night and now we have using clonidine has any one else had same problem. Daughter can just not shut off to goto bed at night. Seems to be really frightened to go to sleep is having myoclonic jerks just as she is falling asleep for about 5 to 9 minutes each night. clonidine is helping to get her to sleep but does not last all night still waking up every night about 2am. Any one have any suggestions or have asimilar thing? Seriously lacking some sleep ourselves and certainly she is struggling the next day as she is tired already thanks for listening Sue 11

Sounds like you really need

Sounds like you really need the advice of the doctor treating your child. There's no easy answer to getting the right mix of meds. Counselors can also help parents and children in dealing with fears of going to sleep and practical ways of addressing sleep probs. I'd put this high on the list as chronic sleep deprivation will hurt everyone!!!

Good luck!
