EEG Result...Seizure!!!!!

Please help me explain the EEG result of my friend
ABNORMAL, Localized sharp wave activity was noted in the left temporal lobe area, this is consistent with an epileptiform lesion.
Kindly please explain to me about the lesion? her doctor's appointment is not until May 15 and she is really worried with the result.

hi,
the eeg is showing results that are the very similar to people with epilepsy. the left temporal lobe (part) of the brain. I don't know the age of you or your friend. Do as much reading as you can. Keep a journal of all of the activity. Beyond that the doc is the place to find the answers first. if not happy then, look for other points of view. Hope it helps.

The doctor reading the EEG will state many general terms in reading EEGs. If they state lesion it is a general term. Tests will be taken to verify the cause of lesions. Drs. have patients do CAT scans, MRI scans, Pet scans and blood tests too. To verify causes of abnormalities.
The doctor is the best person to give you the reason.
Each patient has a different reasons or cause of their seizure disorder that is why I stress to ask the physician.
