Diagnosis help?

Tue, 06/07/2016 - 16:55
I am here because I have had episodes that consist of Deja Vu, extreme nausea sometimes followed by puking, memory loss after the event, and on somewhat rare occasions I am unable to remember what I was saying and have trouble speaking or speaking proper sentences. I can still hear what's going on and am aware of my surroundings but afterwards all memory of the event is lost besides the fact that I know I just had an episode. This usually last no longer than 30 seconds except the nausea usually lingers for a while. This has been going on for almost 6 years and I have had EEG's done and my neurologist has said he saw enough abnormalities to diagnose me with complex partial TLE. We've tried multiple medicines and nothing has worked thus far but we are still trying different meds. I saw another neurologist a couple months ago for a second opinion who ordered an EEG which came back normal. According to him it's impossible for them to be seizures because I wouldn't be conscious or aware of my surroundings. His diagnosis was migraines or anxiety. Yet during these episodes if I get a headache they are nothing severe enough to be considered a migraine and they usually go away within 30 minutes to an hour without medicine (medicine doesn't help these headaches). However, this neurologist prescribed me Topiramate for migraines but there wasn't any difference in severity or frequency. I have read many other stories of people that have something like simple partial or complex partial who are aware of their surroundings. I'm getting concerned as I have been having them much more often from an average of 15 a month to now sometimes 5 times in one day. A new feature has manifested though, I am now getting a tingling sensation sent through my body right before the episode almost like I'm getting goosebumps. I am looking for another non professional opinion from someone else who might know or experience something like this. My concern is if they are seizures, we will be treating the wrong thing and they will develop into grand mal seizures considering they have increased significantly. Thanks in advance for any advice or help you can leave.
