Depakote Sprinkles...Please help.

Sat, 09/15/2007 - 11:32
My daugther Kaitlyn (2) just started taking the Depakote Sprinkles, ever since her first dose on Thursday night (a double dose to get her levels high fast) I have noticed that whenever she goes to the bathroom (she is still in diapers) I can see alot of the sprinkles. Is this of concern? I have been looking everywhere trying to find a thread about it and can't. Is it possible that it's passing through her body to quickly? As I thought these were supposed to disolve. I have also noticed since her starting it that she has been having slight twitches or jerks?? She looks exhausted. Are these all regular symptoms of the medication? I am really trying not to get hung up on all of the side effects so I don't want to go reading about all of them and get it in my mind that this won't work. Please help. Thank you for any information that you can provide.

In the sprinkles the medicines is on the OUTSIDE of the little balls.... not on the inside. It is to get the meds in them quicker. Our ped neuro warned us about seeing the little balls but assured us that it was ok. Missy, mom to Kevin 10 Years old, Doose or MAE Myoclonic Astatic Epilepsy
