Where do you find laws about medical records?

Mon, 11/27/2006 - 03:16
I have asked repeatedly for my E.E.G.'s, A.E.E.G.'s, and V.E.E.G.s'. I have been denied by over 4 doctors who over the last few yrs have done these on me. I was wondering if there is some special site that lets me know what my actual rights are concerning weather or not the doctors are allowed to deny me my medeical records? Also what you should do when they do. Thanks for any help offered. Andrew Floyd Strasser

In Australia you definatly have rights to your medical records, although they may take some things out in order to 'protect' you. And generally the will take a long long long time to get them to you. ------------------------------ Peace, Love, Mung Beans

Just by signing the papers to give access a state social worker got my wifes recoeds for 2 yrs. I have contacted 2 hosp. plus the v.a. recently and have now recieved my full records for over 5 yrs. and I,m still waiting on more. and this was done with a ph. call and an email. I am no expert but I did a little searching and dug this deep. http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/scripts/title_search.pl?title=title42&keyword=accessing+personal+medical+records I will also ask a ssi person this question this week and see what she says.
