Vaccine pneumococcal disease and epilepsy

Mon, 07/24/2006 - 14:50
I started to get epileptic fits about 8 years ago. No centre of the fits has been found on MR nor is epilepsy proven by EEG. The fits are however still there.. I have tried lots of different medication, but it is not helping. Every time I get to see a new doctor they always ask if I have had any pneumococcal disease when I was young. I always answer no to this, but I have now found out that I was part of a test program for such a vaccine. This was however 10 years (at age 15) before I started to get the fits.. Is it possible that this vaccine has caused the fits? I have got confirmed that I got the “real stuff” in this test program. Has anybody else experienced this? Will such damage be visible on a MR ?

If inactivated virus can

If inactivated virus can cause seizures within hours to days after injection, than it would seem to me, it is very possible to have seizures after having received live virus... see link below and scroll to known side-effects: http://www.immunizationinfo.org/vaccineInfo/vaccine_detail.cfv?id=9#sideeffects
