Unsure, could use some guidance

So I have an MRI and EEG scheduled for next week but I have this feeling that what ever has been happening to me isn't seizures. I work at a big healthcare facility so I see my doctor every day and we're close...I feel she ordered all these tests just to cover all her bases and because I'm closer to her than her average patient...she even did say herself it didn't sound seIzure like. I've had 3 different situations all within a year. The first two happened after me standing up and walking somewhere fast. Suddenly my vision started to go out (from my eyes fluttering open and closed and not being able to keep them open) my head got this really weird warm/ lots of pressure feeling and I shook (not violently) the whole time I was still very aware what was happening, I could still hear the tv and I was thinking in my head when is this going to stop what is happening. The first two times happened standing up and I was able to keep my balance and stay standing. Fast forward a year and I had the exact same situation happen, standing up fastly, same sensations, still aware, except this time I lost my balance and fell to the floor because the shaking was a little more violent than past times.. I finally made an appointment and my doctor has ordered an MRI and eeg like I mentioned earlier. Obviously these procedures cost a lot of money and I'm concerned because a lot of the seIzure experiences I read about don't sound too similar...I find it weird that the episodes always happen after standing up as well...my blood pressure is completely normal though. Has anyone experienced anything similar. Would you guys recommend going through with the tests? Thanks for any advice!

so you work at a health care

so you work at a health care facility...Does that mean you can't have seizures? Your doctor said they didn't sound seizure like,,, What does a seizure sound like? Is the doctor you are talking about a neurologist that specializes in epilepsy? The doctor did order the two main tests used to diagnose epilepsy. However those tests can come back normal and you could still have seizures and epilepsy. Epilepsy does not discriminate. Old people get it. Young people get it. Rich and poor people get it. People of all races get it.I have had seizures where I was aware of what was going on around me. My right hand felt weird or numb. They ended with me going about my business, However at times they went farther. They continued and my right hand would start to rise up. If it stopped before getting shoulder high I was fine. But if it ever got shoulder high I went down into a generalized seizure which looked like a generalized tonic clonic seizure. The difference was I did not lose consciousness. Now the tests the doctor ordered are the MRI which shows your brain and anything on it that is different. The other tests is the EEG. Which is a test of the electrical output coming from your brain. What starts a seizure is an electrical impulse hitting wrong in your brain. That wrong hit causes a chain reaction which is the seizure itself,In my case they found abnormalities in the left lobes of my brain. Th MRI showed scar tissue in those lobes. What caused the scare tissue was a concussion caused by a blow to my head knocking me out for a few seconds. I can have many different types of seizures, ones that look like I am day dreaming. Others affect my right hand and it not doing anything for a short period of time. Others have been seizures that were convulsive.Yes the episodes you posted could be seizures or parts of seizures. If they are then treatment needs to be started. The longer you go without treatment the more frequent they will get and they will become stronger and longer. Starting treatment means the neurologists can find a medication and dosage to control them faster

My son was diagnosed 10 years

My son was diagnosed 10 years ago when he was 15. When he takes his meds he is seizure free. He had been on DepakoteER. He is married now and they want to start a family so the doctor took him off that and started him on Keppra. He had a seizure last week after six years without one. He is switching doctors and cannot get in until August! I am just wondering about the two medicines. As his mother I think the Depakote was working why switch but I understand their reason for coming off. Any answers would be great.

I'm not sure if it's just me

I'm not sure if it's just me but after reading your reply and comments you almost seem to be attacking her. I don't think she was classifying herself as anyone better than anyone else. She was being honest and open about what she's going through and what the doctors are doing so I found what you said to be offensive honestly I'm struggling myself with seizures. I've had completely normal MRI and EEG but they found white matter on my brain because of severe  migraines when I was younger. Perhaps you didn't mean to sound so angry period but hopefully whatever test you have done or treatment you get works for you.
