Timing before getting the all clear ????
Fri, 08/24/2007 - 21:37Hey people , i was just wondering the amount of time people who are not on epilepsy medication need to go for without having a seizure , before getting the all clear ? I have had more than 1 seizure but i think even my neurosurgeon has his doubts over wether i have epilepsy ( or a permanent seizure condition ) or not . He has not put me on medication yet . And i would love to celebrate IF i am lucky enough to pull through this next 3 months without having a seizure , before i see him again .

I think it depends on where you live. In California, it's 3 months.

From my understanding, if you are seizure free for 6months to a year, then restrictions on things like driving should be lifted. However, you'll want to talk to your doctor directly. mb
