Sneezing & (possibly seizing)???

Mon, 10/19/2015 - 15:57

A couple of weeks ago I was sitting at my desk at work and I sneezed. This was really weird because immediately after the sneeze I had a "deja vu" like feeling but it was actually not deja vu at all, but a completely illogical thought/image that was there and then gone very quickly. Right after that I got a sick to my stomach kind of a feeling. It felt like something really bad was happening or something was going to happen, aworld changing anxiety that felt awful. This whole "episode" only lasted about 30 seconds at most.

These kept happening, so I went to my primary doctor and then to a neurologist. I had an EEG done that came back normal, and now we are waiting to hear what the MRI results look like. I also had a Lyme test, I was at my primary doctor's office and they have an onsite lab, so she figured that I might as well check that out too. The Lyme test came back normal. Lastly, I took a pregnancy test which came back that I was not pregnant.

Since the first episode, I've had quite a few of them and most of them follow a sneeze, but not all of them. It's usually 1. sneeze 2. deja vu 3. anxiety/sick stomach feel and then I'm back to normal.

Everything I look up online, keeps pointing in the direction of simple partial seizures in the temporal lobe. I'm still waiting on the MRI results.

I am having the same thing

I am having the same thing right now. But it can be if someone else sneezes that sets me off too. I also had these 3 years ago for a few months but the stopped. All scans and tests (eeg, ecg, mri) came back normal. This time I have also started having panic attacks, something I have never had before. I feel it could be related to anxiety.
