Seizures when asleep?

Thu, 10/04/2007 - 01:32
I always get weird smells that no one I'm around seem to smell. But a few times, I've woken up and smelled the most horrible smell I've ever smelled in my entire life each time. It's so bad I want to throw up. I haven't asked my neurologist about this because I felt kind of stupid. Has anyone else experienced this, is it even possible? I have simple partial seizures, complex partial, secondary generalized. 1200 trileptal 200 topamax 300 lamictal (weaning off) Thanks

From the time she was 9, until she wass 23, my daughter had a horrible smell prior to every tonic-clonic seizure she ever had. She could never describe it, but it was the only warning she got, and her doc said it was very common. Now, he has changed her meds and she no longer gets the smell, but she has also gone from several sezures a month to only 1 seizure in 8 months. So please, tell your doctor about it. Good luck.
