seizures during EEGs?

Mon, 05/15/2006 - 16:13
I was wondering if it's commonplace for epileptics to have seizures while having the "standard hospital EEG"--you know, the strobe light, etc trying to make you have a seizure--especially if you aren't taking your medication? I'd really like to find some information on this, as I had a small (20 sec) seizure while undergoing an EEG (this happened with the "fast" strobe light), but that was my first and only, and was never diagnosed with anything. As far as someone that has been diagnosed with epilepsy, I'm really curious, as my hubby hasn't had a seizure while having an EEG, with or without medication. Thanks Amy
