ready to give up

My son is 12 years old and about 6-7 years ago he had what was told to me was a seizure. What happend then and still happens till this day is that his left arm and hand starts shaking alot (if he has something in his hand he will drop it) and he goes into a "daze". I can call out his name and nothing it just continues. There are times that his hand and arm just shake uncontrollably but he his aware of his surroundings. These don't happen every day but recently he had one once a month and before that he could spend 6 months without an incident. 24 hours video EEG have been done and they have come out normal. The neurologist has told me that there is no purpose in giving him any meds because these incidents don't happen often. Please don't get me wrong I am happy that the EEG are normal and so far no meds. My biggest problem is this circle that we have been in for so many years. At this point I need real answers, ex: what is it, name of it, what causes it, etc. etc. etc. I was wondering if anyone out there has had something similar and if you had what have you been told and what was done to come to a "satisfying" answer. Thank you for your time and for reading my story. Shelley New York City, NY
