Possible seizures or no?

Thu, 04/07/2016 - 23:19
I got a concussion in November 2015, and have finally started feeling a bit more normal these past two months. However, I sometimes still get an odd sensation like fullness yet lightheadedness around the right side of my forehead and it often occurs when I'm really concentrating on things like at work. The feeling hasn't been as strong as it was a few months ago, but I still get some version of it every day. Sometimes when it's strong or lasts long I get either really tired or get sharp pains in my head for awhile afterward. I also get jerks in my right upper arm/shoulder area (usually jerks toward my body) and sometimes my neck jerks usually to the back or side though I only notice this when I'm sitting up with no neck support like at the computer. I did go to a neuro who actually sent me for a sleep deprived EEG last month and I was just told today at the follow up appointment that the results were normal. I expected this, especially since I didn't feel odd or have any of my normal jerks during the test (though my right thumb jerked a few times), but it's still got me wondering. The neuro did say we could do a longer version and at least try to capture one of the jerks, but having missed work for a month and a half and another day for the EEG, I'm not sure if I really want to bother if the possibility of this being seizures isn't pretty high. Sometimes I think for sure it must be seizures but most of the time I can blow it off as my head isn't quite ready to handle all I'm throwing at it and the jerks are from muscle/nerve irritation from my neck not having fully healed (I got the concussion/neck injury from ice hockey). Either way, the neurologist said to contact her if I was still having the jerks in a few months (since I said my headaches/weird feelings have decreased she isn't concerned with them), and she'll set me up for the EEG. I guess I'm mostly wondering if anyone had similar symptoms and if they ended up being diagnosed with epilepsy? I'm also wondering if what I'm experiencing ARE seizures, what is the likelihood they could become more severe? How quickly would it take for a more severe form of seizure to manifest? Having a tonic-clonic at work is my latest nightmare and I may not even be having seizures at all!
