Hi every one, well i said I wouldnt get back to you all untill in knew what was going on, Had my eeg and saw the neurolowitch today, and she said they found nothing, I knew this was the case as I felt no attacks during my 24 hour take home eeg. she has told me my symptoms are to many, This dosnt surprise me as it's been 13 years of hellish symptoms ,from my constipation ibs , dreamy states, ataxia ect, the list is so long. she said she feels this is anxiety. manifesting all this, right now i'm defeated and very low I thought I'd have an answer today and could get some meds to get me through this next month. she said if you have another episode you can come straight in and we'l do an eeg within that hour,(if she could have done that why not in the 1st place) I said would it still show up a 1/2 hour after an attack and she said yes. (is this correct)????? I have an amazing 22 year old daughter, a magnificent husband, and the best life anyone could hope for so why would i have anxiety? when i told my mum today , she said but you've always had these symptoms. we just thought they were part of your personality. so what dose one make of all this. for me it say's I'm crazy, and I havent stopped doubting myself sinse, am i somatizing manifesting? sorry but i really need a pep talk here. thankyou all , jen from oz

Hi jeonz.

I totally just saw the post you made on "The Neurology Forum" that the doctors from the Cleveland Clinic answer. I commented to the same post too. I've never run across the same person on two different message boards before, so I thought that was cool.

brain waves after a seizure

Submitted by krissy16 on Fri, 2007-11-30 - 15:02
hi jenoz, from what I understand some seizures like the spacey ones you described that don't make you lose consciousness are hard to detect sometimes on eegs so it might be really unlikely to see any brain wave abnormalities after one of these spells. Seizures coming from the frontal lobes are also said to be more difficult to detect on eegs. Probably the reason your doctor didn't mention this before is trying to find the seizure on the eeg soon afterwards is not a sure thing either. I read t/c seizures where you lose consciousness and convulse, those can give off abnormal brain waves for a week or longer. Not always but can with some people. I just read the report on it. I can totally relate to your situation and what you are going through. I would give anything to have something show up on a test. Don't give up or give in. After your appointment is over the doctor moves onto the next patient. You don't have much meaning in their lives except for those short ten or fifteen minutes. You are your only advocate so keep going to the doctor and keep talking to people with this and read as much as you can on it.

Hi Krissy, yep I know, the neuro did explain that , but still told me she thought it was stress related dough! long before the eeg , I had started seeing aura, now I have persistent aura, 24/7, I'm told it's rare to have this and many of my symptoms are commen with , acephalic migriane , the silent type NO no actual head pain. just the other silly head stuff I get. thanks so much, jenny
