New diagnosis, distressed

Fri, 08/31/2007 - 05:52
I have had an EEG that shows abnormal spike and wave patterns, and received a diagnosis of idiopathic generalised epilepsy. I have had 2 seizures that developed out of the blue and am still waiting for my MRI results. In the mean time I have taken lamotrigine but had an allergic reaction and I'm taking Keppra now, which is making me so tired I sleep most of the day. Is it at all possible that my MRI will reveal a brain tumor? I feel very stressed. I will be starting Uni again next week and I'm going to be a mess when I'm this tired. Any info you have is much appreciated.

Cocoloco, An MRI is a test used often I've had several. Just because you have just been diagnosed with epilepsy doesn't mean you have a brain tumor. I've had several never had a brain tumor. Talk to your neuro about how you feel he might be able to help you. Belinda (a)abort (b)fail (c)retry (d)throw computer against the wall southern and proud of it
