myoclonic jerks(seizures)?epidural shot

~~
hi, Im 60 and have questions on myoclonic jerks. I had a epidural shot that caused me a lot of pain. A week later I started having myoclonic jerks in my upper body.later I started having problems with my torso which caused me to become contorted and lose balance. The jerks persist but seem to come and go.I also get the feeling of dread sometimes when I stand up.I was told by a neurologist that it was caused by stress.I read a few comments from others who had this happen to them after the shotsMy concern is who to see that will give me the truth of what happened.Im of course also concerned with future events.Would a eeg show or do I need a Veeg..Any input would be helpful.

Thanks so much

WelcomeAn EEG is showing the

WelcomeAn EEG is showing the electrical out put comming from your brain. The EEG can only show the out put down to a certain depth. If it is too short it may not show anything so it would be normal. I had 20-25 all come back normal. I went thru testing and everything came back normal. The last test that week was another EEG in which I fell asleep. In that EEG they saw abnormalities (seizure activity not a seizure)The video EEG would be done in a unit. In that EEG you are videoed and the EEG is hooked up for a long time. In mine I was in the unit for about 4-5 days. I had friends and family come in and visited and stayed for hours. I watched movies and read books. The food was OK but that was years ago. They also have ambulatory EEG's where they hook you up and you leave with the machine. You do your normal stuff arround the house adn sleep with it on. In mine w had to go to an offic and they downloaded the information and put in fresh batteries. After the weekend I went in and they took it off. Both show more activity since you sleep and it is longer. The last way I know is a sleep deprived EEG that EEG is longer the a regular EEG and you don't sleep for hours before the EEG. In those they want you to go to sleep so they can pick up your brains output while you sleep. As far as who to see.... I would suggest you go to a neurologist who specializes in epilepsy I hope this helps Joe
