MRI & Piercing Retainers

Tue, 02/26/2008 - 02:48

I am having an MRI done at Children's Mercy in Kansas City on Friday after having 2 grand mals, countless partial seizures, and what my father (who has witness many seizures) believes to be a petite mal. I have had a CT, and a sleep deprived EEG and both turned up normal.

I have an anti-helix (snug) piercing, helix, and labret piercing. The anti-helix is the newest, and is just over a month old so I am slightly worried about it closing so we went out and bought retainers/spacers for all my piercings. Retainers are just rubber and plastic jewelry...

Will I be able to use the retainers for the test, considering they aren't metal, or will it mess with the MRI?

Thanks a lot in advanced!
