MRI - Flair sequence vs. Diffusion sequence.....

Thu, 10/19/2006 - 19:19
Mhillqt had posted recently about an MRI w/ "Epilepsy protocol". In my MRI, the protocol used was called a "flair sequence" to screen for Multiple Sclerosis lesions. I also had an earlier MRI w/ no contrast (b/c I was pregnant) with a "Diffusion sequence" to rule out a stroke. To completely confuse my own self, I also had an MRA, which was supposedly just looking at the blood vessels in the brain. Are the flair and diffusion the same as the epilepsy protocol or completely different?
