MRI

Thu, 09/21/2006 - 21:50
This evening I had a MRI. I was pretty nervous, because I am afraid that they won't find anything. So while I was in there she said on the intercom, "ok, we have two more, than your done.." I was like ok... Than, the two were over, and she didn't beep in and talk to me for a long time. It seemed like over 3 minutes of silence. Than she finally beeped in to say they were going to do another one. I sat there waiting for that, but apparently it wasn't going to work. So she let me out, and there was a doctor looking at my MRIs. She lead my out quickly ( not as friendly either) to my locker, and left me on my way. As I was walking away I heard hear say... See I see something here.... Now I don't know what to think. So can MRI technician read MRI's as well. I wanted to hide next to the door to hear the rest. Now its a waiting game of what could it be or did she see anything at all....so thats my question.

I think that the MRI technicians have an idea if something is wrong. However, I wouldn't worry too much if you haven't heard anything yet. When I was waiting for the results of my MRI, my doctor said that if anything was seriously wrong, they typically would notify you fairly quickly. I'll pray that everything comes out okay for you.

I had a similar thing happen only it wasn't the technician who made the comment. It was my mother looking at the screen and saying, "see that, see that?... we knew she had no brain!!" then lots of laughter ensued at my expense. seriously though, it must be hard to try and be patient with the process. I remember being on pins and needles waiting for my MRI results. And all that worrying was for nothing, it was clean. My best friend recently told me of worry- Worrying is like being in a rocking chair, you waste alot of energy but you don't really go anywhere. hang in there :)
