Hey, I had a MEG not too long ago. It is kind of boring. It's like a MRI and EEG combined. First they try to find the exact shape of your brain by rubbing some kind of pen-type thing all around your head. Then, they hook all the electrodes to your head. They place you on a table in a room and put your head in a small thing that is like a MRI laying right on your head. They put you in a room (seems kind of like a vault). They want you to sleep the whole time so they can catch some abnormal brain waves easier. (of course I could not go to sleep the whole time I was in there). This is supposed to show what part of the brain it comes from by the EEG and where exactly on the brain by the MRI. You stay in there about one hour to one and a half hours. You have a mic in there if you need to tell the tech something (like if you need a blanket or have to use the restroom). All in all, it is basically a MRI and EEG combined. It is very boring (if you can't go to sleep). There is nothing to worry about. They don't start an IV or anything. So think positive and be very sleep deprived so you can sleep well during the test. I couldn't and of course, with my luck, my test did not show one thing. They came in mid-way and gave me some kind of pill to relax me even more, but it did not work. So think positive and dont worry about this test.

Thanks for the comment We have progressed a little further since my question and are due for surgery in 5 days We are in Australia and they don't have MEG tests here yet we were considering if we needed to go elsewhere but we think we have enough info to do the grid placement for surgery Thanks anyway it is always good to hear about new things Tuckster

You are welcome for the imput. You are getting closer and closer to finding an answer. I still have a long way to go. I have a WADA coming up in two weeks. After that, my doctor's next step will probably be depth electrodes. I am ready to find out some answers as to if I am a surgical candidate. TTYL!
