Medication not working. epileptologist?

Since my medication (five different ones) aren't working, my neurologist sent me to an epileptologist. Has anyone been to one before, and can they help?

YesNeurologists work on everythig stemming from the central nervous system. An  neurologist specializes in epilepsy so he knows more about newer medications, procedures  and the tests.I have been with the same grop of neurologists since 1971. When they started specializing I was introduced to the next doctor who specialized. He moved so I got the next. he triered and along came th next. All in all I have had about 8 and the last one I have been with for close to 15 years. Oh and if I had questions I called and Doc gave me answers to them back in the mid 80's.It will do you good to have an epileptologist since they know more about the newer medicatins with fewer side effects. They know about other procedures that can hel control your seizures,As for medications not working did you give the medication evough time to work? Did it stop any of your seizures? It takes the body 4-6 weeks to get used to the medication and for the therapeutic levels to build up in your body. Did you try a higher or lower dosage?I hope you get a good one and he helps get your seizures controlledJoe
