How long do EEG's typically take?

Fri, 03/31/2006 - 15:24
I'm scheduled to have an EEG next month to try to figure out where my partial seizures are happening. The neurologist who scheduled it did not tell me how long they'll want me there. He said I should do what ever I can to trigger a seizure and they will try to help with that too. But do they usually just keep you there until you have one? I wish I had discussed this with the Doctor, but I just didn't think it was going to be some drawn out test until I read about someone else having a 4 day long EEG. I have a hard time getting information from the incredibley irritable receptionist at the Neuro office.
