Hippocampus vs Temporal Lobe

What are your insights into the big differences between the hippocampus and the temporal lobe?

The hippocampus is actually located deep inside the temporal lobe of the brain (both sides). It is believed to play a role in the formation of new memories. It also appears to have a role in spatial orientation/navigation and emotions.
