Wed, 05/26/2010 - 19:17

Hello....

I had a ambulatory EEG for the past 3 days. The wires were just taken out, Now I'm stuck with all this sticky gel in my hair. Shampoo does not work.  I need advice on some other ways to clean my hair. Please!!

Thank you... Aloha, Rena!

Rena,

The tech guy at the testing site used Asetone.  Not sure how to do a home cleaning with it or if it is a good idea.  It smells very strong but eventually washes out.  I think I had to deal with it for a day or two.
Keep up the shampooing and call your neuro's office to see if they can help.

Sorry I can't give you more.

Tim

I had one last week and am STILL trying to get it all out. I'm seriously considering going to the salon and having a pro work on it....either that or a good friend with patience and a really good comb!

The tech used so much baby oil on it that it ruined the shirt I was wearing but it DID get the big chunks out!

Hi - I had the same treatment about 2 weeks ago and I first used a stay- in conditioner for about 15 minutes, then rinsed out to start combing through the knots.  Then I had some help from my sis and the used an oily conditioner called "phytonectar" to help with the rest which looks like you have really bad dandruff!! That worked quite well, it's an oily treatment also meant to stay on about 15 min.

I was still finding pieces a week later...but it does come out=)
