Genetic Testing.... SCN1A

Has anyone had this blood test? I heard it costs around $3000.00 and insurance will not pay for it? Epi wants Kevin to have it but geez my pockets are not that full (full with lint that is)

My daughter had this test done at the direction of an attending neurologist during one of our many hospital stays, and I haven't heard how much it costs or that the insurance company will not cover it. You should double check with your health insurance company. You might just have to have the specialist be specific as to why you need it. Be prepared .... if you do go ahead with the testing be prepared to wait 4-6 weeks for the results, especially if it goes to a Lab in Athena.
