EEG interpretation question...

Mon, 08/27/2007 - 17:32
Does anyone have any idea what this might mean? I haven't asked my doctor yet, but I will when i go back. In the mean time... if anyone has any experience they can share, I'd appreciate it! EEG Report part I don't fully understand: "...there is synchronous burst of sharp activity seen which clearly looks abnormal. During the photic stimulation, there was photic driving in both hempispheres but it was slightly more on the right occipitotemporal region compared to the left... After the photic stimulation, the recordings show very frequent synchronous bursts of sharp and slow wave activity which is clearly abnormal..." I was dignosed with with generalized epilepsy after having grand mal seizures. But I also have episodes that could be partials and I was wondering what the occipitotemporal part was all about. I know that flashing lights can cause my seizures. I'm just unsure about what is causing the possible partials. Could this occipitotemporal region have anything to do with it? Thanks all! :-) Elizabeth
