Does a positive EEG mean Epilepsy?

We just found out today that my daughter had an abnormal EEG result. I insisted to the ER doctor 2 weeks ago that she had a seizure. My aunt was Epileptic and I watched her have seizures for my entire childhood. Needless to say it was 4 days before I could get her PCP to schedule an EEG. After the doctor got off the phone with me today, she called me back to ask if I knew CPR which I do. She also told me that I would need to keep my daughter out of school until they could schedule her an appt. with a neurologist. She also said that has probably been the cause of my daughter's mysterious illness that has plagued her with head aches, abdominal pains, joint pains, nose bleeds, and nausea for the past three years. All symptoms have popped up over time. It started with the stomach pains, then nausea, followed by abdominal pains, innability to gain weight, head aches, the joint pains, nose bleeds, and then the day before easter the seizure. She also is always falling down which is making me wonder if that could also be connected. She said they would put her on medication then. I have 3 people in my mothers side of the family with Epilepsy. Does that mean she has it or doesn't. If her doctor said she needs to be put on medication, doesn't that mean she does have epilepsy? I'm so confused. Please help!!
