Best pediatric neurologists in NC?

Tue, 04/17/2012 - 11:29
We are trying to get my two year old daughter diagnosed w possible absence seizures. The pediatric neurologist we saw in Greensboro, NC was not helpful at all. I told him I felt crazy because at the time I was the only one seeing my daughter blank out and he told me the way I'd prove to him that I wasnt crazy was by video taping her 3 second seizures for him to see! Then he would do a 24 hr EEG. It had been 6 months since that appointment and my husband, mother, and in laws now have all seen my daughter exhibit this behavior on multiple occasions. So, we need to get her back in to see someone but do not want to go back to that dr. Can anyone recommend a great pediatric surgeon in NC? Thanks

My son was diagnosed with absence seizures within the last few months.  We saw Dr. Gallentine at Duke.  We were happy with the care he received but be forewarned the wait time when you go for an appointment can be as long as two hours.

My son was recently diagnosed with absence seizures.  We see Dr. Shana Wallace in Charlotte.  We have only seen her twice, but were impressed with her on our first visit.  She ordered a 24 hour EEG even before we saw her the first time.  He had had 2 early morning seizures and we were shocked to find out he was also having absence seizures.  This is all new to us and I am just beginning to learn about it.
