am i having night seizures?

Mon, 06/18/2007 - 08:33
Hello, Recently I have been having reccuring dreams of passing out. Sometimes I dream that I am drunk (when I am actually sober), and I remember feeling very dizzy while asleep. I have heard strange music and sounds in my head as I am trying to fall asleep, which I think is normal... It is very difficult to wake up in the morning even after I have gotten 8+ hours of sleep, which is abnormal for me. When I wake up I feel exhausted, my limbs are in pain, and I sometimes have a headache. Two days ago at work I experienced shooting pain like an electric shock on the back/left side of my head, above my ear. I am 18 years old - I have a cousin who developed epilepsy at 17. Please let me know if I should be concerned. Thank you, Jaci

I am on Topamax now and it seems to be working better w/ seisures comming on from my other complicated health issue. I have been having upper abdominal problams for a long time and that has gotten in the way. My ep only started 2 1/2 years ago and they said it was meds then they were certain it was JME now they have "conclusive" tests it is a certain frontal lobe epilepsy and I trust this Dr most. I did have migraines before all of this though and Topamax did not help I am still on maxalt for the cluster of migraines and dealing w/ my stomach surgeries still. I was put on lamictal first for LME though and it gave me major problems uncoordination, speech problems stills, short term memory loss, I thought I had MS(multiple sclerosis) because I looked just liked my friends mom who has it, I am only 20 right and I had to weed that med out....still spacey and no honor roll anymore...especially in english. But now, my fevers and insomnia are causing seizures in my sleep, I wake up bit tongue and that same seizure feeling when I have my grand mals...when I had a Boyfriend he saw me have them in my sleep too, no grand mal lately though I am on 600mg of topamax. I need Help!!!!

I would do as Lisa asks and contact your doctor as soon as you can if you have not already. Read Prisonerinmyownbody's post to see why.... Something is happening that has raised your concern enough to feel concerned about posting... The strange music and sounds could be seizure activity-but I am no doctor that I do know. Conclusive testing that is that ( conclusive) can give so many answers, especially about changes in seizures, and what people are hearing or seeing and why that is. Some people do have difficulty in awakening in the morning, even feel they are a prisoner in their own body. Seizure meds can be the cause of that, as they can be in feeling drunk. Remember AED's are powerful in the effect they have, as are headaches and ear pain, and shouldn't be taken lightly. Concern shouldn't be either...? Hang in there, stay positive and upbeat, it helps... Cat. "Many false prophets are gone out into the world." 1 John 4:1
