He probably is not hearing you, if he is in the middle of a seizure. Make sure you let your doctor that he is having the tics and falling. Maybe he is not taking enough meds that is causing the tics. As for the falling, sounds like he is having generalized seizures. see, i figured that. not from what my dr. has told me but from what i have researched myself. it's kinda funny how the dr.'s just don't give you alot of information, they haven't given me anything! not even a prognosis! he is on 500mg of keppra daily and clonidine at night to make him sleep. otherwise he'd be up 24/7. i have had dr.'s tell me he has ADHD, OCD, anxiety, on top of his complex motor tics and epilepsy. i don't know if i should march into my dr.'s office and demand information or find another dr.we never even knew he had epilepsy until he started having tics last year. so we took him to the neuro and they did an EEG to rule out epilepsy, boy were they suprised! they told me they were 99.9% sure he didn't have epilepsy but the EEG showed different. then he had an MRI done and they didn't find anything except cysts in his nasal cavity arear. i think the report said "Thornwaldt's cyst", but the dr. never told me that i ran across it when i got copies of the med. records. it's weird b/c when he falls it is only for just a second and then he is back up. he doesn't seem really confused. just kinda like "what the heck?" i am so worried. his school performance is suffering, social life and self esteem. i think he had a seizure last night. he woke up yelling something totally off the wall and i was trying to talk to him and his eyes were rolling in his head and he was babbling and not making much sense. then he laid back down and went to sleep. if you or anyone you know might have some similar stories or helpful advice please let me know. thanks soooo much...

Hi, the episode you are discribing from last night is like some of the ones my family has said that I have. I sit up yell something, my eyes bounce in all different directions, I make no sense at all, I usually hit my Husband a few times (poor man) then I lay down and go back to sleep. Thankfully my increase in meds has stopped the nocturnal seizing. Best of luck to you with your son. Dayna
