3 month old baby having focal seizures

Mon, 04/03/2017 - 09:35
My baby is three months old and has been hospitalized since March 17. She began showing little jerking movements a little after her two month vaccines were put. After 15 days my baby was having convulsions 2:30 to 4 minutes in duration. And ocurring every hour or hour and a half. Inmediatly the hospital began doing exams and until today everything has come back normal. Right now she is on Keppra, Phenobarbital, Leocovorin, Piridoxine, and Topamax and still having seizures frequently. Do you guys have any recommendations, she is so little and having to use that much medication gives me the creeps . Appreciate all of the considerations.

are you at a well regarded pediatric hospital with an epileptologist who really specializes in babies? difficult to control seizures in infants is a time for going to the best you can find right away (and things might still move slowly even so).

((Hugs)) my daughter was 10

((Hugs)) my daughter was 10 months when she was diagnosed (later the diagnosis was retracted). It is so hard to see your baby go through those tough times. I felt out of control and that wasn't a good feeling. I don't have any good recommendations besides just being there for her, cuddling her, and loving her - which I am sure you are already doing.
