Medications

hi everyone,

I have a question.... Anyone here know if there is a big difference between generic medication brands and the original one?

I started taking Depakote about 17 yrs ago and it has always controlled my seizures very well, but the side effects had been getting worst and worst every year. Specially since my Dr. Switched me to Divalproex Sodium (generic brand) I don't know why but for the last maybe 8 years my tremors are so bad! And my hair! OMG I'm so afraid to wash my hair, and for the last 2 or 3 years I lost a lot of weight and something very funny that not sure if is related with the side effects, but the left side of my face, my eye and head hurts sometimes my left arm too. I have mentioned to my Dr but he doesn't say much.

I have a feeling all these are side effects of this med, because about eight months ago we tried to switch meds to lamotrogine but it didn't work on me and while I was off Divalproex Sodium didn't have the terrible tremors and eye issue, but know I am back to Divalproex Sodium... Anyone here knows about this?

Thanks,

Lupe
