Fighting for People with Epilepsy

Wed, 07/23/2014 - 21:43

Hello Everyone,

I am Ceven Bates, I am new to this wedsite. I have had epilepsy since birth and the seizure continued throughout my adult life. Then I got free information on the temporal lobectomy and with the advice of my neurologist I had the WADA test done at the Southern Indiana Rehabilitation Center. The neuropsychologist found that I was a candidate for the surgery. In april 20,2004 I had the left temporal lobectomy to remove a scar that caused ninety percent of my seizure. I have lived in Indiana for two years going to an epilepsy support group and my advocate is supporting me and giving me training material to become an advocate for people with epilepsy. I am very sensitivty, compassionate, and understanding when it comes to help anyone with epilepsy. I was physical, verbal, psycholgically, and emotional abused as a young child to an adult. I have devoted my life to fight for all of us with epilepsy. I have graduated from college as a medical assistant and I am going back to college to get my associate degree in psychology. This will better equip me to advocate for us and understand the effects having seizure have on us besides my own experience. I understand where each one of you are coming from. I have been there with no help and support from anyone. I hope to talk with you all real soon
