Does anyone else feel like you know when your seizure is coming?
Fri, 01/25/2008 - 16:03Hey, I'm new...I've had epilepsy since I was about 11...I'm almost 18 now. Anyways, sometimes, most days when I'm about to have a seizure, throughout the day, I have these weird "feelings". I can't really describe it, but I think there is a word for it, like a warning signal I guess. I don't know if anyone knows what I'm talking about. But the feeling is really weird, like all of a sudden, I get the chills, and my body feels cold, and I get this weird feeling, almost like a da sha vuu, like I remember "thinking" this thought before, but then I forget it. I don't know...it's very weird, and I know I'm probably not making any sense. Anyways, I know I'm not having a seizure then because I am fully conscious and don't make any movements. But I might have a few of those moments through out the day leading up to my seziure.
Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone else got thos feelings, since I suspect it's related to my epilepsy. Or maybe you want to share any other ways you know you're seziure is coming on.
I have complex partial seizures by the way.

hey
i get all those feelings. plus pins and needles. Numbing on the right side of my body (however i have a weakness on that side). also i get like a feeling that im dumb? if that makes sense.. like i have trouble talking or just doing simple tasks.

Yep
its called an aura. Some people can get it immidiately right before a seizure or a few hours. It just depends on the person. I get groggy and light headed that will useually be my first sign to take it easy then i get a nervous tingle sensation in my stomach... not sure if it because i know a seizure is comming or if its also an aura. I get TC/ absence.
