Hello Tegretol takers!

Are you craving salt too? Are you supplementing with the vitamin Folic acid? Besides this vitamin, I'd like to know if Tegretol is to blame for any other vitamin deficiencies...anyone know?

I am taking 1600MG/day I do crave salt......Sometimes I wonder if it's harder to loose my baby weight from having my daughter 1 yr ago?....... I really want to find out about extra vitamins I should be taking too. Anyone heard about Omega3/Fish oils/flax seed supplements if they are beneficial? Thanks for the post instant magic :-)

I would think Omega 3 would be beneficial regardless. Craving salt is a result of the Tegretol that much I know. I read something about Tegretol causing your body to dump Folic Acid, which if true, is extremely important esp. for women. "Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure." -Ravenclaw-

When I was pregnant I took the folic acid...... I also breastfed her with my meds........ Does anyone know the benefits of omega 3 and folic while taking tegretol? I have read several reports online that suggest the omega 3-fish oil is VERY good for anyone, but can help decrease frequency of seizures.? I think I am going to make a dr.'s appt.
