Sex Drive

Does anyone else have limited sexual interest due to their seizure disorder? I have just read that temporal lobe epilepsy can cause affect the sex drive. I personally have no interest in intercourse. I now wonder if this could be why. I'd love feedback.

Yes, Believe, one of the first thing my neuro asked me after she saw my post seizure EEG was have you ever had a problem with dejavu, presque vu, etc or had visions, etc? I said I've always been a bit, er, eccentric... but I don't know what those words mean. when she explained them i just started giggling and we had a long talk...LOL!! it was me all over..I'm classic TLE...most of my life. and I was sent to psychiatrists, made to feel weak, like I couldn't cope with life, etc.. so...I am ANGRY. Because it all culminated in a massive TC where I had a huge head injury where I've now damaged my brain and have lost my career.

Taking carbatrol 2x daily. I can honestly say my sex drive hasn't diminished in the least although my wife wishes it would.

Having anxiety, there is always some underlined cause. If it would be from medications, mental disorder, or others like epilepsy... Possible the epilepsy was there but never shown or caught.
