Sex Drive

Mon, 09/13/2004 - 19:47
Does anyone else have limited sexual interest due to their seizure disorder? I have just read that temporal lobe epilepsy can cause affect the sex drive. I personally have no interest in intercourse. I now wonder if this could be why. I'd love feedback.

Strange you say that because I have anxiety/panic issues since I was a young child -- never any explanation as to why. I've just always had them. Now I am wondering if they are related to E as well. Although I found out that E does run in the family, it was just never talked about. Interesting the things we find out after the fact!

Yes, anxiety and epilepsy can be related. Just the worry of when the seizure will occur will give you the anxiety. Just knowing you have epilepsy brings the stress and anxiety on. For some of us it can go side by side. http://www.epilepsy.com/epilepsy/mood_anxiety.html Lisa http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/epilepsyapproach1/ http://www.sleep-safe.co.uk/id90.htm

What about having anxiety / panic attacks but not knowing you have E? I never knew I had E until recently. Are they still related? I thought I read somewhere here that a seizure can mimic anxiety/panic attacks? Thanks!
