Decreased Appetite

Tue, 08/09/2005 - 14:32

My 13 year old daughter has been on Keppra for 8 months and we are noticing a decrease in her appetite.  This started about one month ago.  Is this normal for this sideeffect to start after so many months or is it maybe just a decrease in appetite because the weather has gotten so warm?

My 16 year old son has been on Keppra since the end of May and we have been concerned about how little he eats. I guess I now know why.

I just read the package insert for Keppra and a decrease in appetite is not listed there.  This is the only med she is on for her complex partial siezures and absence siezures.  I guess I will have to talk to the doc at our next appointment in December.   Even if the decrease in appetite is the result of the med. it has worked so well for her I don't want to change it.  I guess we will just have to add milkshakes to her diet!

I've been on keppra a year and I find I can barely eat in the mornings.
