Hi. In the past I have taken Dilantin, Depakote, Topamax, tegratol, lamictal, neurontin, zonagran, gabitrol, phenobarbitol, keppra, and a few others I can't recall the names of right now. They all caused wieght gian. Of them all I gained the least amount of weight on Zonagran which I took for almost a year. At first this worked really well in controlling siezure and had few to little side effects. But like with all the other AEDs that I took after a while they all stopped working to some degree. My system did not tolerate the Keppra. I had a horrible reaction to the stuff. It totally changed my tempermant to MEAN all the way around. It is amazing how a few pills a day can change the way a person behaves A. Even more amazing is how long it takes a person to recover to their "normal" state of mind once the drug has exited the blood stream. I gained the most weight while taking depakote. (It significantly increased my appetite.) Several of the AEDs caused more seizure. Gabitrol caused a definate increase in seizure. And as I have mentioned before SSRIs and TRICYCLINEs all lower the threshold for seizure. Anybody else have an increase of seizure due to certain medications? Have a great weekend everyone!!! Blessings. Linda
