I was not on it long enough to know for sure but usually the seizure meds do tend to make me gain weight. Keppra gave me a psychoic reaction that ended in a seizure. I went dancing (literally) in the moonlight in my pjs. Nice for a 55 year old grandma! If my body could have climbed a tree I would have done that too. I loved the drug.. it mad me laugh and I felt so high!!! They threw the drug down the toilet and to tell you the truth I still am sad about that :)

I lost weight myself after taking Keppra the first couple of weeks, also seem to cut my appetite. I'm also taking Lamictal and Dilantin.... If you continue to gain weight , get your self in diet and excercise . I did my research on Keppra and show no side effects of weight gain. If you switch medications , be careful with Depakote , that's a weight gainer.
