can seizures be triggered by intercourse?

Tue, 05/10/2005 - 13:06
My partner has what seems to me to be a seizure immediately after we have intercourse. He is 28 and says that it has been happening for about four years now. He is fully concious when it happens but he has no control of his muscle functions, and has a hard time speaking while it is happening. I have tried looking on google and yahoo for any help but there doesn't seem to be any mention of a kind of seizure that could cuase this. If anyone has any suggestions I would be very grateful. I am apparently much more concerned than he is, and I just needed to know if I am over reacting.

and this is precisely why I have no desire to get married LOL..forget whether or not sex can cause seizures...for me, having no sexual stimulation at all for years would be enough to make me have seizures...i'd go nuts. No one gets married for sex...And that's all I ever think about...ok, well food and running also...

I think it's safe for me to assume your'e an "avid runner"; right? Me too. Over the past twenty years that I have had full t/c episodes, far and away the most of them have occurred while I have been running.  I have run religiously each morning for almost thirty years. My doctors have never been able to draw any correlation and pretty much dismiss it as irrelevent.  Sometimes alcohol the night or days before might have been a factor, but I know thats not exclusively the case. I believe that I am particularly at risk when I "push" myself in terms of going for time on my splits and so forth. Have you seen any association with your running and siezures?
