can seizures be triggered by intercourse?
Tue, 05/10/2005 - 13:06My partner has what seems to me to be a seizure immediately after we have intercourse. He is 28 and says that it has been happening for about four years now. He is fully concious when it happens but he has no control of his muscle functions, and has a hard time speaking while it is happening. I have tried looking on google and yahoo for any help but there doesn't seem to be any mention of a kind of seizure that could cuase this. If anyone has any suggestions I would be very grateful. I am apparently much more concerned than he is, and I just needed to know if I am over reacting.

Just consider it a post orgasm and pat yourself on the back for being so good! Seriously though, I used to have seizures after intercourse but they became not as often in my early 30's and now are rare in my 40's. But then after 25 years of marriage-so is the sex. Excuse me, I need to go call my doctor. I've just discovered the reason for my depression.

LOL spiz...I just got married last month, so knowing now that sexual activity drops off in about 25 years, I should really get offline and go do,," something" ....while I still have the opportunity!

I want to thank you all so very much! I wasn't offended by anything offered here and it is so nice and refreshing to find so much humor alive amongst us all! I can't imagine a better way to live, with or without seizures! I am so grateful that you all were kind enough to embrace me and offer your support even if you didn't have the answers. I am really shy and I wasn't quite sure how my question would be received. You all have been wonderful! I look forward to more messages from any or all of you soon! Perhaps since humor seems to be a common thread you might share some of the strangest/ most humorous(can it be called that?) situations you have personally been in or a loved one has been in when having a seizure?
