seizures at night

Mon, 01/03/2005 - 18:50

I have a question to ask anyone out there.  I have complex partial seizures.  I do not know what happened, but this morning I woke up and my back was killing me.  I would like to know if it is possible if someone like myself could have a seizure at night, and hurt their back by doing something to it?  Reason I ask this is because I did nothing that I can think of that would have hurt my back this much

Hello, my name is Tiffany and I am new to the site. I also suffer from Complex Partial Seizures and yes, having them at night is quite common. I once awoke and was completely unable to even stand...my back was completely thrown out. It is a terribly confusing situation considering you more than likely will have no memory of what happened. If you are like myself, with the Complex Partials, I tend to also wander and have found myself waking in strange areas such as the bathroom or hallway, without knowledge of how I got there. It can be very frightening and at times dangerous. The best advice I can give is to just be aware of this and to make others aware also. I wish you the best!

Hi Jeremy! This is gsness again...I just thought I'd share with you that my wife wanted to call me at work late last week and ask if I was all right. It seems that my pillow was soaked with blood when I woke up... apparently I chewed the living you-know-what out of the side of my mouth in my sleep. Probably another CPS.Ah well, E sure can make life interesting, can't it? Hope all is better with your back! Happy New year!~GSN~

Jeremy, I have complex partial seizures and even though most of mine are during the day I have had some at night time. My husband says that I will sometimes situp or get extremely stiff, and smack my lips and that is how he can tell that I am having them. I don't know what your day time seiuzres are like but it doesn't necessarilary mean your night time ones are the same or that afterwards you sleep in a comfortable relaxed position. I always can tell that I've had the next morning by the way I feel. It feels like I just like do after having a seizure. WendyS
