I took a medication that made me retain water which caused a weight gain. I went from 185 to 260 in less than a month. The medicine didn't control my seizures and I was given another med. I lost 40 lbs in less than 3 weeks which I thought was basically the water. While talking to my neuro I mentiond the weight loss and he said that the loss was not all water but about 20% ws fat which needed to go anyway.
There are several medications out that would help with weight gain, I would suggest you contact your neuro and ask him which might be better. I say that becasue he will be able to look at those medications and he would know if any of them would interfer with your AEDs
