deja vu aura

Fri, 05/23/2008 - 20:21
Can someone tell me again what a deja vu aura is like.  Are you remembering the seizure as if it was a familiar event or do you just get a familiar feeling without really knowing what it is about and you just can't put your finger on it.  I've gotten these but it's hard to describe it that good.

I've-gone-crazy-Sue Darn! I want the kind of seizure that makes me feel as if I had the answers to all my quesrions (even if the answers aren't right). That is better than most seizures in my opinion!

Be careful what you ask for, I have simple-partial seizures like this that often end up spreading and becoming tonic-clonic seizures.

Imagine your mind trying to access all the knowledge the universe contains, but you're incapable of processing and understanding that much information, and the only defense your mind has against being overwhelmed (and quite possibly destroyed) by this is to have a seizure.

For me its extremely powerful - usually before a seizure (TLE for me) a stop in your tracks kind of power. Yes, before I was diagnosed and before any of my TLE came to the forefront I used to get the odd moment of deja vu but it was just a brief feeling of "ooh isn't that strange I think I have been here before".

One of the factors in my original going to the drs was the newly found intense feeling of deja vu followed by weirdness. It was completely different to the usual slight feeling of similarity to a situation. It was sooo powerful it made me feel sick, it was a rising feeling and then smack, Jesus, oh my god, what the hell I have been here before, I know everything, wow, I am psychic, I know this is destiny/fate etc and I have seen this all before this is god's plan type of scenario!!

Sometimes this is pre-empted by or accompanied by an extremely strong smell of vinegar that gets right up my nose freezing cold and into my brain, then the deja vu, then a seizure.
