He could have Benign Rolandic Epilepsy. You may have never seen him having an active seizure. It occurs at night. My son is 14 and was diagnosed with this when he was 4. His seizures are not "typical". My son also was diagnosed with a learning disability by the Neuropsychologist, who said it was most likely because of the Trileptal that I was giving my son. I'm in NY and had a great doctor at Beth Israel. My son has been seizure free for 3 years. It was anticipated that he would outgrow it by adolescence.  Keep going until you find a doctor that is right for your son. Be his biggest advocate, educate yourself and research everything. Good luck!!

ok everyone this is unreal. His eeg stated that it was abnormal because of epileptiform discharge. His pediatrician told me that he was having subclinical seizures. We went to the pediatric neurologist and he acted like we was crazy.I gave him a report of the eeg and he said that if the report was right he would outgrow the seizures but he said he did not have epilepsy and I said great that  means he can drive and get his learners and he said no he should have another eeg in a year and if it was clear he could drive. He said the eeg showed epileptiform discharge and he could have a seizure, was not epileptic but could not drive. He also said that this had nothing to to with his learning disability  but when I look it up it says this is a good possibility. On his eeg it stated that the abnormal readings could be the cause of his other problems.Ithought at last I had found an answer.Im so discouraged.
