My boyfriend has struggled with "not being in the mood" as he calls it for several years. We were talking about it when we first started dating, and linked the onset of his libido loss to around the time he started his first seizure medication. He was in his early twenties when his seizures first started, and had a "normal" libido before. We're not sure yet if the epilepsy caused it, or if it is the medications. One of his neurologists told us that isn't usually a side effect of any seizure medication. With him, if he gets in the mood, he can maintain his erection. His libido is just severely dampened by either the epilepsy or medications. We aren't addressing this with his doctors until we can get his seizures under control. His medical team is aware of it, we just aren't doing anything about it. The way I look at it, I'd rather have him healthy and seizure-free any day, rather than the risks of adding libido-boosting meds while we're still trying to control his epilepsy and find the right medication combo for him. Sorry, that may not have helped much. I just wanted you to know you're not the only man with epilepsy that has experienced this.

i had juvenile myoclonic epilepsy for 7 years now and have not had any seizures for 6 yrs. I was told i will have to continue medications for life and Im on Depakine chrono 500mg. I am 24 but I have issues. And i wanted to know know if its safe to consume cilias 20mg. I haven't used this site before so i cant seem to find the option to ask a doc here. Anybody here with experience with cilia's?
