Tue, 05/12/2009 - 08:49

I am at wits end for my daughter. Diagnosed 4 years ago. Have not yet found a med that works for her. Lately she has constant seveer leg pain/tingling. She has to get up and walk around saying Ow OW OW OW  till it subsides.  Yesterday she had 7 eposides - 2 of which went into seizures.  Today looks like another day of the same.  First leg feeling at 5am and again on bus en route to school. Has anyone had similar expereices?????

We are not getting anywhere with our docs.

Thanks.

I had (maybe still do) have stuff like that. I have had Epilepsy since i was in 4th grade (9th now) My leg would start out as either sharp pains or Numbness. and with in 2 or 3 hours i would start seizing. It can even start with the Tingling. Thats how my worst 1 started. They only last for about 4-5 mins before i get completly passed out (one even killed me! but the doctors got me) I have meds that control it now so it doesnt happen alot. Though i still get feeling like every day. If it wasnt for the meds then i would probably have one again. It happens about 2-3 times a week. Very painful. Left me emotionally and physically scard for life.

Yes! This is happening to my 10 yo daughter dx'd with BRE

Until this past Friday night, her seizures have been infrequent and completely nocturnal. Friday night she had episodes of extreme leg pain, would last for a minute, then she would say that she couldn't feel her leg. 5-10 minutes later, the pain would come back. She was screaming and crying, it was really hurting her. I didn't think it could have been seizure activity, but that is what neuro is thinking and she wants to up her meds today. I am waiting to get an appt with her, as my daughter is having serious issues with her current medication...we may have to switch AGAIN. She also has a lot of abnormal bruising on this leg...caused by meds ? Caused by seizures ? I have no idea...it's so hard because dr's can only experiment with each patient. Everyone is so different and reacts so differently. It's frightening.

I was recently diagnosed with

I was recently diagnosed with epilepsy after having 4 seizures related to sleep.  For years I'd had severe leg/foot cramping at night.  I was first given potassium supplements--which did help (and I still take them).  A few days ago I forgot to take my Keppra and last night I was up again with terrible leg cramps...almost like the muscles have a pulse of their own in many different spots.  It's hard to describe...just a horrible pain.  When I had my seizure sleep study done, I remember one doctor mentioning that the cramps could be "mini-seizures."  Now I'm wondering if it's all related.
